Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor — North Shore & Vancouver

Powell Contracting is a North Vancouver-based residential construction company specializing in high-quality renovations and custom builds across the North Shore and Vancouver. We are built on a foundation of craftsmanship, clear communication, and accountability.
We're looking for a Lead Carpenter who's just as comfortable with a tool in hand as running a crew — someone who leads by example, not from the truck.
This is a 50% supervision / 50% hands-on role. You're on site every day, working alongside your team, coordinating trades, and making sure the work meets standard at every stage.
On-site leadership
- Work alongside your crew daily, setting the tone for craftsmanship and pace
- Run daily toolbox meetings and keep the job site safe, clean, and organized
- Sequence trades so work keeps moving without bottlenecks
- Hold subcontractors to scope, schedule, and quality — inspect as you go
Working with the PM
- You partner with our Project Manager, who handles budgets, scheduling, and material coordination
- Daily check-ins to flag upcoming needs, trade issues, or delays
- Submit site logs and photos on time, every day
- Handle change orders, RFIs, and site documentation accurately
What you bring
- 8+ years of progressive residential construction experience
- Real hands-on carpentry skills: framing, formwork, finishing, custom builds and renovations
- Proven experience leading a job site, not just working on one
- Strong knowledge of BC Building Code and WorkSafe BC requirements
- Comfortable with project management software and standard site documentation
- Valid BC driver's license and reliable vehicle, required for travel between job sites
Bonus points: experience mentoring junior carpenters or labourers, familiarity with JobTread or CompanyCam.
