Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our finance and accounting team at Redoe Mold. The ideal candidate will lead all aspects of financial management, including plant accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role requires strong collaboration with divisional controllers globally and will play a key part in driving financial discipline and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for plant operations, incorporating production, sales, labor, and capital expenditure plans.
- Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems to ensure accurate allocation of direct materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Analyze job profitability at the project level, with focus on variance analysis (materials, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and root cause investigation.
- Partner with Operations to identify and quantify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and capex reports) in accordance with Canadian GAAP/IFRS.
- Ensure all reporting complies with federal, provincial, and applicable international tax requirements, including HST/GST treatment for export sales.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely reconciliation of all accounts and audit readiness.
- Maintain adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal controls.
Job Costing & WIP Management
- Oversee end-to-end job costing from initial estimate through final delivery, ensuring accurate cost tracking and alignment of costs with revenue recognition.
- Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reconciliations, investigating discrepancies between physical progress, financial postings, and invoicing.
Process Improvement & Internal Reporting
- Develop and refine internal reports to improve efficiency and usefulness.
- Reduce reporting cycle times and automate repetitive reporting processes without compromising accuracy.
- Coordinate with global finance teams to align reporting formats, chart of accounts, and performance metrics.
Leadership & Strategic Support
- Act as financial business partner to the General Manager and operational leaders, providing decision support for capacity planning, capital investment, and pricing strategies.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff to improve accuracy, efficiency, and analytical skills.
- Represent the finance function in customer negotiations, audits, and supplier discussions when financial expertise is required.

Required Qualifications:
- · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (CPA designation or equivalent experience preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with exposure to audit, corporate reporting, product costing, month/year-end closing, and external audit preparation. (mold or related industry is a plus).
- Proven experience in international business environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with major ERP systems (SAP is preferred), advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong understanding of KPI-driven performance management.
- Ability to travel internationally if required.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and verbal English to effectively communicate with team members. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus due to global team interaction.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

- Mainly office-based within a manufacturing facility
- Occasional visits to the shop floor with PPE protection
