About the Role
Are you a hands-on technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and keeping critical equipment running? Join ESBE Scientific as a Field Service Technician supporting hospitals, laboratories, and research facilities across Ontario.
You will install, repair, calibrate, and validate medical and laboratory equipment, including medical fridges and freezers, ultra-low and cryogenic freezers, incubators, centrifuges, and grossing stations. Your work directly protects patient samples, vaccines, and research that matters.
This is a great fit for experienced field service or biomedical technicians, and we will also consider newer technicians with an electronics background, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Full training on our product lines is provided.

What You Will Do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical and laboratory equipment on-site and in our service bay
- Perform calibration and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), temperature mapping, and performance verification to industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer SOPs
- Complete clear, accurate service, calibration, and validation reports
- Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency repair requests
- Train customers on proper equipment use and operation
- Manage parts for your territory and keep service records up to date
- Support demos, trade show installs, and new service contract opportunities
- Work with sales, technical support, and customers to resolve issues quickly
What You Bring
Must have:
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, and basic mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional, customer-focused communication, including in challenging situations
- High accuracy and attention to detail in documentation
- Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to travel up to 50% (day trips and occasional overnights) and to work extended hours or weekends for emergency service when needed
Nice to have (we will train the right candidate):
- 2+ years of field service experience with laboratory, medical, or refrigeration equipment
- 1+ year of validation and calibration experience with temperature-controlled devices
- Knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ, temperature mapping, and regulatory documentation (ISO, CSA, cGMP)
- Refrigeration licence (313A/313D) or biosafety cabinet certification (NSF/ANSI 49)
- Experience in a laboratory or scientific environment
