Below are the main roles and responsibilities:
1. Program Management
- Plan and oversee daily childcare programs for children.
- Ensure programs support children’s learning, development, and well-being.
- Make sure activities follow approved frameworks like play-based learning.
2. Staff Supervision
- Hire, train, and supervise childcare staff and educators.
- Assign duties and create staff schedules.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Support professional development for staff.
3. Compliance with Regulations
- Ensure the centre follows all licensing requirements and safety regulations.
- Maintain compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
- Prepare for inspections by the Ministry of Education (Ontario).
4. Child Safety and Well-Being
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for children.
- Handle incidents, accidents, and emergency procedures.
- Ensure proper supervision ratios and safety policies are followed.
5. Communication with Parents
- Communicate with parents about children’s development and daily activities.
- Address concerns, complaints, or feedback from families.
- Organize parent meetings and updates.
6. Administration and Record Keeping
- Maintain records such as:
- child enrollment
- staff qualifications
- attendance
- health and incident reports
- Manage budgets, supplies, and centre operations.
7. Policy Development
- Develop and implement centre policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff follow policies related to:
- discipline
- health and safety
- inclusion
- child protection.
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
