Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This dual-role position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for patient care and administrative excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient support, managing front desk operations, and ensuring smooth clinic workflow. Experience with dental software and office management is highly valued, and familiarity with electronic medical records is a plus. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining efficient office procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and providing chairside support.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records within electronic medical records systems and ensure confidentiality.
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing or payment processing as needed.
- Keep the front desk area organized, tidy, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and post-procedure care instructions clearly and professionally.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or Dental Assistant is preferred; experience in medical or dental office settings is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and office equipment including multi-line phone systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Prior experience working in a dental or medical office setting is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
