Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services is a third generation nursery with 500 acres of trees; we are a progressive nursery growing premium grade trees to ship all across Western Canada and one of Central Alberta’s largest landscape companies, and we need to add to our starting line-up. This successful team member’s duties and responsibilities will include:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Operator for this position will be responsible for the watering of trees, shrubs and sod and maintaining a watering schedule. Watering both in our fields and on our landscape project sites.
- When not operating equipment on a project, work alongside the crew completing various landscaping tasks or driving other trucks.
- Be punctual and set a positive example for other staff to follow.
Skills and Knowledge:
- A good knowledge of basic machinery and vehicle operations, equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance.
- Must be physically fit.
- Must work well with others as well as independently.
- Must be strong at understanding both verbal and written instructions.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Knowledge, understanding and execution of managing pumps and hoses.
- Preferably a Clean Class 3 with Air but at the very least, Clean Class 5 with Air.
- Current First Aid (preferred)
Must be committed and able to working in a safe work environment; this is a safety sensitive position and there for a pre-employment drug test would be required. Workdays are Monday – Friday (some Saturdays maybe required throughout the season): position is available immediately. Although the bulk of your responsibility will involve equipment; operating, applicant must be in good, strong physical shape to haul water hoses.
