Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all food handling and safety standards are met while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli items such as meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches according to customer specifications.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing customer transactions efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering any questions they may have.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels of deli products and assist in restocking as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Perform regular cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards in the deli section.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy setting.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Experience with POS systems is a plus but can be learned on the job.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude in all interactions.
