Bufala River District is looking for an experienced Server who understands that great hospitality is about more than taking an order and dropping food.
We are a busy neighbourhood restaurant with strong brunch, dinner, patio, takeout, and event business. Our guests include regulars who visit every week, families from the community, date nights, celebrations, and large groups. We want someone who can make every table feel genuinely looked after while staying organized and composed in a fast-paced room.
The right person is warm, confident, aware, and reliable. You know how to read a table, control the pace of service, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team. You take pride in knowing the menu, making thoughtful recommendations, increasing the guest experience through sales, and noticing what needs to be done before being asked.
What the Role Looks Like
- Welcoming guests with genuine warmth and confidence
- Guiding guests through our food, wine, cocktails, features, and desserts
- Reading tables and adjusting your style based on the occasion
- Managing timing, table maintenance, and communication throughout the meal
- Making natural recommendations that improve the guest experience
- Communicating clearly with the kitchen, bar, hosts, support team, and managers
- Staying calm, professional, and solution-focused during busy services
- Supporting the entire floor rather than focusing only on your own section
- Completing opening, closing, cleaning, and side duties properly
- Handling guest concerns with care and involving a leader when needed
- Helping us build regulars and strengthen our place in the River District community
What We Are Looking For
- At least two years of serving experience in a busy restaurant
- Strong food, wine, cocktail, and service knowledge
- Confidence managing a busy section
- Good awareness, urgency, and attention to detail
- Clear and respectful communication
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong preparation
- Weekend, brunch, evening, and holiday availability
- A valid Serving It Right certificate
- A positive attitude and willingness to receive coaching
- Someone who wants to grow instead of becoming comfortable doing the minimum
