Substitute Teachers (Casual, On-Call)
Medicine Hat Public School Division serves over 7,000 students and offers a full spectrum of programs and services centered on student needs, with sensitivity to families and the broader community. Our Division serves children from 2½ years of age through Grade 12.

We are currently seeking qualified Substitute Teachers to work on a casual, on-call basis throughout the Division.
Qualifications

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
-
Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education
Responsibilities
Substitute teachers are expected to fulfill the professional duties and responsibilities of teachers. In addition, substitute teachers shall:

Arrive at the assigned school at least fifteen (15) minutes before morning and afternoon assemblies to ensure a smooth start.

Report to the school office upon arrival to receive any instructions for the day.

Take on any supervisory responsibilities as directed by the Principal.

Attend staff meetings if requested by the Principal.

Leave a brief written summary for the absent teacher, highlighting work completed and any important notes.

Check out at the office at the end of the teaching day.
Rate of Pay

$271.00 per full day
-
$135.50 per half day
A current Criminal Records Check and Child and Family Services Intervention Check are required.
