We are looking for a skilled, safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our team. This role is perfect for a seasoned pro who is equally comfortable in a mini-ex or a full-size machine. You’ll handle everything from precision residential basement digs to complex commercial deep utilities. Core Responsibilities
- Execute Precision Work: Use blueprints and project plans to perform grading, trenching, finishing, and basement digging to exact elevations.
- Safety & Equipment Care: Operate machinery safely to protect the crew and property. Perform daily maintenance, including greasing, fueling, and shoveling tracks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the ground crew and supervisors to coordinate site activities and assist with labor duties when the machines aren't moving.
- Documentation: Stay on top of electronic timesheets and safety paperwork.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an Excavator Operator (Mini & Full-size proficiency is a must).
- Technical Skill: Deep knowledge of excavation techniques; specific experience in basement digging is highly valued as well as deep services.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read plans and maintain grade/elevations independently.
- Mechanical Aptitude: You know your machine and how to keep it running smoothly.
- Physical Fitness: Ready to jump out of the cab and assist the labor crew whenever necessary.
