Hotel Houseperson – Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Hotel Houseperson to support the Housekeeping team in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the property.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, meeting spaces, and employee areas.
- Assist Room Attendants by delivering linens, towels, amenities, and other housekeeping supplies as needed.
- Remove trash, soiled linens, and debris from guest floors and housekeeping areas.
- Perform light cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and spot-cleaning surfaces.
- Set up and move furniture, rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest-requested items.
- Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged property to the appropriate department.
- Ensure housekeeping storage rooms and supply areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Follow all hotel safety procedures, cleanliness standards, and company policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous housekeeping, hotel, janitorial, or customer service experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and carry items throughout the shift.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
