Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in supporting pharmacists and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient care, and medication management, with prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings being highly advantageous. The Pharmacy Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with medication preparation, patient interactions, and administrative tasks to provide exceptional service and support to our patients and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Prepare prescription labels and package medications according to safety standards
- Manage inventory by restocking supplies and medications, ensuring proper storage conditions
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medication logs, and patient information
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper handling of medications and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate seamless patient service and medication management
Skills
- Experience working in hospital or pharmacy environments is preferred
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to accurately interpret prescriptions and communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and records
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to medication handling and storage

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
