Reporting to the Production Manager, the QA Technician will ensure product meets food safety, quality and company standards while reporting any concerns to the Production Supervisor. This position is presented on a seasonal basis contributing to Bulk Production periods before, during and after the canning season - transitioning back to available positions in the off-season or entering the SUB plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Quality, documentation and compliance to all specifications and customer specific requirements
- Completing Audits before start ups and after sanitations as required
- Communication is an essential part of this function. Communication with canning plant, field department is critical and this associate wear a radio
- Direction and specific requirements must be communicated to all required employees
- This associate must be an example for all seasonal workers with GMP and safety knowledge
- This associate must work closely with shift supervisor to ensure consistently good product
- End of shift review all documentation-ensure all documentation is complete and correct
- Other duties as may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Basic computer skills are required for completing quality checks and production records
- Basic record-keeping and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to inspect product for quality, freshness, size and damage
- Good understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Medium to Heavy Lifter
- Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, pulling/pushing, reaching, hand/eye coordination, finger/wrist dexterity, grasping/pinching, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities are required by this job to include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Appropriate work intensity level: Light to Medium
- Hourly wage is $22.87 - $24.00/hour.
