Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering General Manager to oversee all aspects of catering operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of food service and hospitality, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves coordinating catering events, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and managing daily operations to deliver high-quality catering experiences. Previous experience in restaurant management, food industry, or hotel settings is highly desirable. The Catering General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and ensuring client satisfaction through efficient management and innovative service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily catering operations, including event planning, food preparation, and service execution
- Supervise and lead catering staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Coordinate with clients to customize menus and ensure their specific needs are met
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining food safety standards in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure timely setup and breakdown of catering events while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Handle cash transactions, POS systems (including Micros POS), and billing processes accurately
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Monitor quality control throughout all stages of catering services to uphold brand reputation
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure proper food handling, preparation, and presentation
- Maintain excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Stay updated on industry trends in food service, hospitality, and event management to innovate offerings
Skills
- Proven General Manager experience in banquet management or food service industry with supervisory responsibilities minimum 10 years
- Strong leadership abilities with team management skills including interviewing and training staff
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS for cash handling and transaction processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively
- Experience in hospitality environments such as hotels or bars (Barista experience is a plus)
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food handling and event logistics
- Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of the food industry trends, restaurant management practices, and kitchen operations
