Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Insulator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing insulation systems across various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and materials. The Insulator plays a vital part in ensuring energy efficiency, fire safety, and soundproofing in commercial and residential structures.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine insulation specifications and installation procedures.
- Measure, cut, and install insulation materials using hand tools such as knives, scissors, and tape measures.
- Operate power tools safely for cutting, fastening, or securing insulation components.
- Install insulation in walls, ceilings, attics, ducts, pipes, and other areas as specified in project plans.
- Apply caulking or sealing techniques to ensure insulation is properly sealed against air leaks.
- Assist with related construction tasks such as drywall installation, framing, or masonry when needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, caulking equipment, and heavy equipment operation.
- Construction experience in insulation installation or related fields such as carpentry, masonry, or electrical work is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, welding, restoration work, cabinet installation, painting, concrete finishing, or electrical experience is a plus.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
