Position: Order Entry/Purchasing

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiast and detail-orientedOrder Entry/Purchasing who can handle all aspects of processing a customer’s order for materials or spare parts, other than that involve the Engineering or EstimatingDepartments. Purchase/track/expedite materials for ongoing jobs in the field or shop and ensure projects are not being delayed due to parts shortages.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quotes to customers for materials and spare parts.
- Take customer orders by phone for materials and spare parts.
- Set up all Sales Orders in ERP software (Seradex).
- Set up Bill of Material in ERP software, for orders taken by Order Entry.
- Monitor Inventory item levels and purchase when necessary.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers regarding price and delivery times on materials and parts.
- Purchase materials and parts for resale and for shop and/or field jobs.
- Expediting of Purchases.
- Managing the transportation of inbound and outbound materials.
- Approve freight charges on shipments from vendors and freight charges to customers by ensuring the cost is covered somewhere in the file.
- Identify the landed cost of items purchased outside of Canada to record the information in the system for future reference.
- Close sales files after they have been invoiced by entering the total sales figure in the numerical listing in Excel and in the alphabetical listing.
- When required pick, pack and ship small orders for customers or field jobs.
Qualification and Required Skills:
- Post secondary education/diploma
- 2 years of experience in order entry / purchasing is required.
- Computer literate with MS Word, Excel and MS Outlook.
- An understanding of ERP software within a made-to-order manufacturing environment would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Stainless-Steel equipment, Pumps and Fittings would be an asset.
- Strong negotiation, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Must have proven problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Ability to conduct research independently
