SUMMARY:
This position involves assistance to the Quality Department to ensure that the company meets client, regulatory, and statutory requirements, and improving the quality of our products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Calibration technician to ensure that precision measurement devices, such as Vernier’s, Micrometers, Height gauges, Bore gauges, thread gauges etc. are accurate and reliable according to industry standards.
- Perform minor mechanical adjustments to bring tools back within acceptable tolerance ranges.
- Maintain all the calibration records on Gage Track, including calibration certificates, data sheets and logs of all
- tests performed.
- Ensure all activities meet regulatory requirements such as ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 9001.
- Manage the calibration schedule, including tracking, scheduling and preparing instruments for external calibration.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or similar
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a Calibration Technician or Quality Inspector
- Gage track experience is an asset
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Experience using quality engineering techniques/tools related to inspection processes
- Experience using Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions
- Occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat.
- Constant exposure to noise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- Must be able to work afternoons.
- Required to work long hours, and be available on weekends.
