This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
Your role:
An exciting opportunity for a strategic marketer to assist in achieving CBC Sports marketing objectives through the delivery of strategic and comprehensive marketing plans, products and content in collaboration with content and marketing teams across Canada. Your experience demonstrates drive and initiative, creativity, strategic thinking and a firm knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, as well as sound judgment and consistency. In this role, you will help to shape and lead marketing communications plans under the guidance of the Manager, Sports Marketing and in partnership with our publicity, creative and content teams, helping to translate strategy into industry leading marketing campaigns that generate measurable results. Key Tasks:
Conceives and develops strategies that reflect, engage with and grow audiences for CBC properties with a specific emphasis on sports content in consultation with internal and external teams and, upon approval, implements these strategies and projects.
Help to grow CBC’s engagement with audiences through strategic data-first marketing plans and initiatives and ensure implementation
Collaborate on overall content marketing strategies in support of identified channels and priorities including providing guidance on specific tactics, delivery and measurement
Manage all related deliverables and post reports, as required
In collaboration with internal teams, creates and develops community events and audience outreach initiatives and implements in accordance with delegated authority or any necessary approvals.
Seeks, leads and provides organizational, promotional and creative support with external partners and communities
Liaise with external partners including National Sport Organizations and the Canadian Olympic Committee to identify and capitalize on new audience engagement opportunities which contribute to success and enhance the CBC Sports brand and content portfolio
Lead internal and external stakeholder / partner communications to ensure awareness of plans, amplification opportunities, access to assets, and relevant approvals
With direction / support from leadership, lead project teams against assigned campaigns
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Post-secondary education in Marketing/Advertising or related discipline; sports marketing education background is preferred
Minimum 5 years experience delivering professional integrated marketing services, with experience in sports marketing (media, competitive sport league/team/individual sport organizations)
Acute understanding of / experience with Canada’s sport communities including National Sport Organizations and local / community sport
Experience in brand management, athlete partnerships and marketing, issues management, digital marketing, and paid advertising
Solid understanding of the media industry, CBC Sports programming and competitive landscape
Creative and strategic thinker, with superior writing and editing skills
Sound judgment with excellent decision making skills
Successful at managing multiple projects simultaneously while working with tight deadlines
Championing diverse perspectives and ideas, and differing points of view is critical
Ability to travel on occasion as well as work long and/or irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as per project requirements
