Position Summary:
We are seeking experienced Conventional and MacLean Bolter Miners to join our underground hard rock mining team. This position is responsible for installing and maintaining ground support systems to ensure safe and productive mining operations. Successful candidates will have experience with either conventional bolting, mechanized bolting, or both, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install rock bolts, screen, cable bolts, and other ground support systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Operate MacLean bolting equipment and/or perform conventional bolting duties safely and efficiently.
- Conduct workplace inspections to identify and report ground control and safety hazards.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret ground support plans, mine layouts, and engineering drawings.
- Complete daily inspections, production reports, and required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with development and production crews to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core with applicable/related modules.
- Minimum 2 years of underground hard rock mining experience in conventional and/or mechanized bolting.
- Experience operating a MacLean Bolter is considered a strong asset.
- Thorough understanding of underground ground control practices and support installation.
- Ability to safely work in development headings and varying underground conditions.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify and report equipment deficiencies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's licence and legal authorization to work in Canada.
Compensation: $50 - $80 per hour, based on experience, plus daily living allowance and accommodations provided where applicable.
Schedule: 7/7 with 10-hour rotating day and night shifts.
