Fritz-Alder Precast - Chepstow Ontario is looking for experienced skilled labourers to set up wall panels and other wetcast products (formwork, lifting and connecting hardware, cage placement etc).
Skilled roles require experience and proficiency in concrete work, although skilled carpenters or other trades may have complimentary skills.
Job-Related Skills, Interests and Values
- Receive oral/written instructions to determine work assignments.
- Reading blueprints and working with precision to ensure every panel is set up to exacting tolerances. Opportunities to lead smaller groups and receive premiums available.
- Perform panel set up, whilst maintaining a schedule - keeping in mind any specified tolerances/curing/handling/shipping requirements.
- Set up forms for pouring concrete.
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant/yard manually or using powered equipment.
- Vibrate and screed panels.
- Assist operators, form-assemblers, casting and finishing teams, and other workers.
- Clean and remove excess debris from molds and other equipment.
- Participate in daily/weekly Production and Scheduling Meetings.
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task.
Qualifications
Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience is preferred
Specific Experience:
- Experience working with site materials (concrete, rebar cages, hardware, shimming and leveling) an asset.
- Prior experience in a precast plant would be an asset.
- Concrete Batching experience will be an asset
Competencies:
- Safety Oriented
- Able to lift 55 lbs
- Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Able to work unsupervised/supervised as per the role level
- Able to work well with others
- Good communication skills
