Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and bilingual Women’s Visual Heritage Interpreter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both French and English, flexible, and detail-oriented. This role involves interpreting and communicating women’s visual heritage to diverse audiences through educational programming, guided tours, and workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and communicate the museum’s exhibitions and collections effectively in both French and English.
- Engage diverse audiences, including school groups and adult learners, through educational tours and programs.
- Assist in developing curriculum and workshop content focused on women’s visual heritage.
- Convey historical narratives with cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the museum team.
Qualifications:
- Degree in History, Art History, Cultural Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Additional coursework or certifications in Women’s Studies or Gender Studies is a plus.
- Fluency in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in art interpretation, education, or related fields is an asset.
- Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and work without supervision.
- Experience with public speaking and educational programming is desirable.
- Knowledge of women’s contributions to art history and contemporary art practices is beneficial.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage audiences respectfully.
