Our client, located in the South end of Ottawa, is looking for an Manufacturing Painter/Labourer to join their team. They are a sheet metal manufacturer looking for someone to join their their team. Listed below are some of the duties related to the position.
This position requires the use of a respirator, so all interested candidates must remain clean shaven.
Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday
- 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Apply powder paint coatings and finishes to a variety of surfaces using spray guns and other specialized equipment.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or priming, ensuring smooth and durable finishes.
- Follow safety guidelines, protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Inspect finished work for defects and rework as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project timelines, material needs, and work progress.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality standards.
What the job requires of you:
- Proven experience as an industrial painter or similar role.
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques, including spray painting and working with various types of coatings (epoxies, enamels, etc.).
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, climbing).
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
