We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Field Service Technician. This role supports customers in Dartmouth, NS and surrounding regions.
Job description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for applying their mechanical expertise to support both branch operations and field service needs, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Our team of professionals works to ensure all company-owned and customer equipment remains in peak operating condition through a proactive preventative maintenance program and a detailed repair schedule.
This position includes a company service van fully outfitted with tools and parts, along with 24/7 technical and in-house support. A company cell phone, work‑boot allowance, and uniform services are also provided.
Responsibilities
- Follow consistent and regular OEM schedule of repairs to various types of machinery.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot all fuel type systems, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct all PM service requirements.
- Replace assorted parts on boom lifts, telehandlers and scissor lifts.
- Diagnoses problem areas for potential wear and tear on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Follow all company and site safety procedures while in the branch and on customers' sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills required
- Ability to read and understand schematics of equipment for proper repairs, and ability to read and understand warning labels on various types of equipment.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- First in class customer service skill.
- Understand the importance of time management skills.
- Able to work independently or in a team setting.
- Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer skills required for the position.
Conditions of employment
- Journeyman red seal ticket would be an asset, but not necessary; if you're mechanically inclined, this may be the position for you.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
