Overview
Wyrk is seeking experienced and certified Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) to join our growing network of workers for ongoing roadway, construction, infrastructure, and paving projects in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
These are flexible, on demand roles that allows qualified TCPs to browse and claim available shifts through the Wyrk platform based on your availability, preferred locations, and work preferences.
As a Traffic Control Person, you'll play a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow around active work zones while helping protect workers, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
What You'll Do
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely through or around active work zones
- Communicate effectively with site personnel, equipment operators, and drivers to maintain safe traffic movement
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control devices, signage, and barricades as required
- Monitor work areas for potential hazards and report safety concerns promptly
- Follow all applicable traffic control procedures, site requirements, and safety regulations
- Support safe and efficient project operations while maintaining a professional presence on site
What You'll Bring
- Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification (required)
- Previous experience performing traffic control duties in construction, paving, civil, infrastructure, or roadway environments
- Strong understanding of work zone safety practices and traffic management procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Excellent communication skills and situational awareness
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Dependable, professional, and able to work flexible schedules as opportunities become available
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks when required
Equipment & Safety Requirements
To be eligible for available opportunities, you must have and maintain the personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the role, including:
- CSA-approved safety footwear (steel toes)
- High-visibility safety apparel compliant with WorkSafe BC requirements
- High-visibility safety hardhat as required
- Appropriate work gloves and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing
