INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER
Kim Lambert Design is seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Design Associate to join our growing studio.
This role is ideal for an individual with a refined design sensibility, strong architectural awareness, and a passion for creating richly nuanced, deeply layered interiors. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal & Creative Director across all phases of the design process, contributing both creatively and technically to the execution of luxury residential projects.
We are seeking someone who is visually sophisticated, highly organized, collaborative by nature, and capable of balancing creative intuition with rigorous attention to detail.

We are a boutique, design-led studio seeking individuals who are visually sophisticated, deeply curious, collaborative by nature, and passionate about refined interiors and material expression.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal & Creative Director throughout all phases of design development and project execution.
- Contribute to the creative direction of projects through research, sourcing, conceptual development, and spatial refinement.
- Develop and coordinate detailed drawing packages including plans, elevations, millwork drawings, finish schedules, and technical specifications in collaboration with the studio’s CAD team.
- Source furnishings, lighting, materials, fixtures, textiles, and custom elements aligned with the studio’s aesthetic and project narratives.
- Prepare refined presentation materials, concept boards, and client-facing design documentation.
- Lead and support client presentations, communicating design intent with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
- Coordinate closely with architects, consultants, contractors, artisans, vendors, and trades throughout all phases of the project.
- Support the management of project timelines, deliverables, and workflow coordination to ensure projects are executed thoughtfully and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Studio Operations and procurement team to maintain accurate FF&E documentation and specification packages.
- Attend site meetings, installations, showroom visits, and project reviews as required.
- Ensure all deliverables reflect the studio’s standards for creativity, detail, technical accuracy, and execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience within a high-end residential interior design studio.
- Degree or formal education in Interior Design or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of residential construction, detailing, millwork, and interior architecture.
- Exceptional visual sensibility with a strong understanding of proportion, composition, materiality, and spatial flow.
- Confidence presenting to clients and communicating design ideas effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and follow-through.
- Strong knowledge of luxury furnishings, custom fabrication, suppliers, and material sourcing.
- Highly collaborative with a calm, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working within a fast-moving, highly creative studio environment.
- Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Programma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
- Contract / freelance role
- Flexible hours with agreed weekly availability
- Remote / hybrid (located within the GTA)
- Attend team meetings at our Toronto Studio when required
- Attend site visits when required
