Position Title: Landscape Construction Lead Hand
Reports to: Landscape Construction Project Manager
Position Summary:
The full-time Landscape Construction Lead Hand must be able to perform all tasks associated with landscape construction. This includes the operation of relevant equipment and ability to perform tasks such as constructing retaining wall systems, fences, patios and planting. This position should perform with effective leadership; provide supervision and training to crews in a safe and efficient manner. Being able to communicate well with the client, manager and crew members is essential. This position is responsible for ensuring that the job site is safe at all times and must adhere to health and safety policies and regulations. Knowledge of plant material and equipment is required.
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
· Plan timetable for projects in conjunction with the Crew Leader
· Blueprint reading and measuring/layout of construction projects
· Use of large and small construction equipment applicable to the landscape construction industry
· Responsible for day-to-day activities of crew members
· Provide training to crew members
· Provides leadership to teams
· Hardscape and softscape experience required
· Interact with clients on site when needed, provide exceptional customer service in a polite and courteous manner
· Oversees the quality of workmanship on site
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Formal College/University education in horticulture and/or landscape preferred
- A valid G Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscape construction
- Experience in comparable leadership role
- Desire to work in the horticultural/landscape construction industry
- Knowledge of plant material and equipment is required
Working Conditions:
· Work occurs mainly on-site on customer property
· Work may occur under extreme weather conditions
· Position is physically demanding with regular lifting
· Must be able to work in various positions such as kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, reaching, twisting, lifting and standing for extended periods of time
· Driving on a daily basis is required

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
