Milton Equine Hospital, a surgical referral centre, is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team.
Our ideal applicant is a Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred but not required) who is an energetic and enthusiastic individual with experience handling horses of all types. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting is required. Our clinic operates Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Shared health benefit package available after a three month probation period.
Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: co-ordinate patient care including thorough physical exams, maintain patient records, administer medications, collection and processing of blood samples, aid in diagnostic testing, perform patient restraint, sterile preparation of patients for surgery, set up surgical suite, anesthesia, assist veterinarians with procedures (x-rays, endoscopies, surgeries etc.), monitor patients, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
