Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chiropodist/Podiatrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive foot and ankle care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of podiatric conditions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes across various settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, and home care. Candidates should possess strong patient care skills, medical knowledge, and experience with electronic health records systems like Epic and Cerner. Prior hospital experience, research background, and expertise in acute care and pain management are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ foot and ankle health, including medical history review and physical examinations.
- Diagnose podiatric conditions such as infections, deformities, injuries, and chronic foot problems.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication administration, wound care, orthotic fitting, or surgical interventions.
- Manage acute care cases by providing immediate treatment for injuries or infections requiring urgent attention.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record systems like Epic and Cerner.
- Collect data for research purposes to improve clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Educate patients on foot health maintenance, injury prevention, and post-treatment care strategies.
- Participate in home care visits when necessary to provide ongoing treatment outside clinical settings.
- Assist in medication administration following proper protocols and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Chiropodist or Podiatrist in the respective state or region.
- Proven experience in hospital settings or outpatient clinics is preferred; experience in acute care and pain management is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Experience working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) and managing complex patient cases involving pain or injury management.
- Background in research or data collection to support evidence-based practices is a plus.
- Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments such as hospitals or home care settings.
- Prior medical office experience is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong understanding of medication administration protocols is essential. Pay: $24.70-$134.68 per hour
