Job Description
Perfect Thyming Restaurant in Smiths Falls is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, following recipes and food safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and supporting the team during daily restaurant operations.
Responsibilities -
- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards - Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines -
- Ensure food is prepared fresh, safely, and on time
- Complete food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and ingredient setup
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations - Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
- Monitor food quality and presentation before service
- Assist with inventory and inform management when supplies are low - Work closely with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
- Clean kitchen equipment, storage areas, and work surfaces
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience prefered
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift kitchen supplies when needed
- Food Handler Certificate is an asset
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available -
- Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
