Job Description
Position Title: Mould Maker
Department: Tool Room
Purpose
The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair cast and trim dies in a timely and efficient manner to meet production requirements and other work as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Removes stuck castings from die casting machine.
- Repairs damage to dies such as broken pins and cores, etc.
- Repairs damage to and adjusts trims as necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance schedules for all tooling.
- Services back up dies for production.
- Performs odd jobs related to the maintenance and repair of dies.
- Makes gauges and fixtures for production use.
- Maintains safe work practices in keeping with company safety procedures and complying with all related legislation.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Understands IATF 16949 and the relationship that this position has to the effectiveness of this system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Grade 12 high school education is required.
- Successful completion of a certified mould maker apprenticeship program and a valid Certificate of Qualification for Ontario
- Experience in blueprint reading, SPC, and GHS Whmis.

Physical Demand
The Mould Maker is required to frequently manipulate objects of up 10 kilograms and occasionally objects from 11 to over 20 kilograms.
