Vocal Teacher – Max Music Academy

Max Music Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced Vocal Teacher to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who can inspire students of different ages and skill levels while building strong vocal technique, confidence, musicality, and a genuine love for singing.
Our academy offers private music lessons in piano, guitar, drums, violin, voice, bass, and music theory. We are a welcoming, student-focused school with a strong community atmosphere and regular recital and performance opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Teach one-on-one voice lessons to children, teens, and adults.
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student’s goals, experience, and vocal ability.
- Teach healthy vocal technique, including breathing, posture, warm-ups, pitch, rhythm, resonance, diction, vocal range, and performance skills.
- Help students develop repertoire in a range of styles, including pop, rock, musical theatre, R&B, classical, and contemporary music.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, auditions, recordings, and other opportunities when appropriate.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and academy staff.
- Keep brief lesson notes and provide feedback on student progress.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and organized teaching environment.
- Attend and support academy recitals and special events when available.
Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching voice lessons is strongly preferred.
- Formal vocal training, music education, or equivalent professional performance experience.
- Strong understanding of healthy vocal technique and age-appropriate vocal development.
- Ability to teach a variety of musical styles and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
- Comfortable teaching children, teenagers, and adults.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to accompany students on piano or guitar is an asset, but not required.
- Experience preparing students for RCM examinations, auditions, musical theatre, or live performance is an asset.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is passionate about music education and understands that voice lessons should be both technically sound and enjoyable. You are patient, encouraging, organized, and able to motivate students while setting clear expectations for practice, improvement, and performance participation.
You should be comfortable working independently while also being part of a supportive teaching team. We are especially interested in teachers who enjoy helping students become confident performers and who would be open to supporting future group classes, vocal ensembles, workshops, or choirs.
Schedule
Lessons are primarily offered during weekday afternoons and evenings, with possible weekend availability. Scheduling can be discussed based on teacher availability and student demand.

Pay: $18.50-$35.00 per hour
