The International Enrolment Specialist (IES) reports to the Manager, International Enrolment, and plays a critical role in the recruitment and enrolment of international students by providing accurate information on program offerings, admission requirements, and institutional processes, ensuring timely communication, and delivering high-quality personalized service to prospective students, applicants, educational agents, partner institutions, and internal stakeholders. The position ensures full compliance with institutional policies, provincial and federal government regulations, to achieve institutional international enrolment targets. Key responsibilities include managing inquiries, vetting application eligibility, coordinating the admissions process, delivering and facilitating sessions and collaborating with internal departments to facilitate a smooth transition from initial inquiry through enrolment. The IES also builds and maintains strategic relationships with international partners and agents, leads recruitment initiatives, and promotes the institution’s programs in global markets. In addition, the role leads international recruitment marketing activities by providing region-specific market intelligence and developing digital and social media content independently and in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing team. The position actively monitors enrolment projections, program capacity, and collaborates with Data Enrollment Specialists to strategically achieve conversion targets and optimize seat utilization, by providing insights and recommendations to help strategize future international recruitment initiatives.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree from a post-secondary institution in Business Marketing, Communications, or a related field, and a minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience in recruitment, international education, or marketing. In addition, this position requires strong communication, organizational, and intercultural skills, along with a student-centered approach to service delivery. Success in this position depends on continuous professional lifelong learning to maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration policies, market trends, institutional procedures, and international student recruitment practices. The position also requires a high degree of technological proficiency with different platforms for applicant pipeline management, familiarity with international education systems along with innovation, adaptability, and flexibility.
