We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Financial Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the organization’s financial reporting. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and can confidently guide financial processes from end to end.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- General Ledger Oversight: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy across all accounts.
- Month-End Close: Lead and execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare supporting documentation, and address auditor inquiries.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Tax & Compliance: Support tax filings, regulatory reporting, and compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with any ERP system implementation (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is considered a strong asset.
