Account Administrator / Junior Accountant

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Account Administrator / Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. Position Summary
The Account Administrator / Junior Accountant will assist with a variety of accounting and administrative functions that support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. We are willing to train the right candidate, so this position is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with limited accounting experience who has a strong willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and prepare payments.
- Assist with accounts receivable, including applying customer payments and following up on outstanding balances.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with HST filings and other government remittances.
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous accounting or office experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
- Experience with accounting software (such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Experience working in logistics, transportation, or warehousing.
- Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, or XLOOKUP.
