Position Summary: Industrial and Chemical Tank Cleaning
Avenge's Industrial Cleaning Specialist team is growing, and we're hiring Industrial Cleaning Labourers, Class 3 Combo Vac Operators, and Class 1 Drivers to support vessel and tank cleaning projects.
Main duties include physical labour such as job site preparation, cleaning, loading and unloading equipment and materials, and hazard removal. Work involves the use of pressurized equipment and robotic tools, along with regular use of respiratory protection and chemical suits during confined space entry. Travel is required. Shift schedules are determined by customer service needs, and team members must be prepared to work 12-hour shifts, days and/or nights, including weekends.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting hourly rate is based on experience, with potential to earn a six-figure income depending on rotation availability, schedule preference, and interest in cross-training across other areas of the business. Benefits include health, dental, life, and disability coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with equipment preparation, including fueling, power washing, and use of hand tools
- Complete minor equipment repairs as needed
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment on site
- Perform installation and teardown of tank cleaning and fluid transfer equipment, including assembly and disassembly of piping, hoses, pumps, and heat exchangers
- Operate pressurized equipment and robotic tank cleaning tools
- Perform work in confined spaces using respiratory protection, including SCBA, supplied breathing air, and air-purifying full-face respirators
- Wear appropriate PPE for a variety of environments, including impermeable chemical suits and breathing air apparatus
- For driving roles: operate Class 3 combo vac units or Class 1 tractor-trailer units safely and in compliance with all regulations
Required Skills and Competencies
- Class 1 or Class 3 license with a clean abstract preferred for driving roles; not required for labourer positions
- Certifications an asset (training may be provided): First Aid, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space, CSO
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills, sound judgment, and good decision-making
- Commitment to customer site requirements and service excellence
- Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities
- Comfort with electronic forms, e-logs, and safety compliance apps and computer systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to safely perform work in confined spaces
- Ability to pass company and client drug and alcohol testing protocols
