We are expanding our English language training division and are seeking an experienced IELTS & CELPIP English Instructor to prepare adult learners for academic, professional, and immigration pathways.

Our IELTS & CELPIP preparation program is designed to help students achieve competitive scores through structured instruction, targeted practice, and comprehensive examination strategies. We are looking for an instructor with proven experience preparing candidates for IELTS Academic/General Training and CELPIP General examinations.
Job Summary
Toronto Academy of Education is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and experienced IELTS & CELPIP English Instructor to deliver engaging classroom instruction focused on examination success. The successful candidate will provide expert coaching in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking while helping students build confidence and achieve their target band scores.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Contract
Program Delivery: In-person / Hybrid
Academic & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, TESL, TEFL, Education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience teaching English to adult learners.
- Minimum three (3) years of proven experience preparing students for IELTS and/or CELPIP examinations.
- Recognized ESL teaching qualification (TESL Ontario, TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IELTS and CELPIP examination formats, scoring criteria, and assessment standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Must meet instructor qualification standards under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality IELTS and CELPIP preparation classes.
- Teach Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking using structured lesson plans.
- Conduct placement assessments, mock examinations, and performance evaluations.
- Provide individualized feedback and exam strategies to improve student performance.
- Monitor attendance, academic progress, and maintain accurate student records.
- Develop engaging instructional materials and practice activities.
- Support students in achieving their target band scores for academic, professional, and immigration goals.
- Maintain current knowledge of IELTS and CELPIP testing standards and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with faculty to enhance program quality.
- Comply with all applicable Ministry and institutional policies.
