Job Overview: Pre-fab Framing Assistant
We are seeking dedicated Framers to join our production facility. In this role, you will play a vital part in the off-site construction process, assembling high-quality wall panels and floor trusses in a controlled plant environment. This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys the "build" of construction but prefers the precision and consistency of a manufacturing setting over a traditional job site.
Responsibilities
- Component Assembly: Assist Lead Framers in building wall sections, headers, and trusses using automated framing tables and jigs.
- Station Preparation: Set up assembly stations by laying out lumber according to shop drawings and "cut lists."
- Tool Operation: Safely operate industrial pneumatic nailers, staplers, and miter saws to secure framing members and sheathing.
- Precision Quality Control: Ensure all components are square and meet exact measurements to prevent issues during on-site installation.
- Material Management: Organize and load finished panels onto specialized trailers for transport to construction sites.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure safety and efficiency on the production line.
Experience & Requirements
- The "Tape Measure" Test: Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately to the 1/16th of an inch.
- Construction Knowledge: Previous experience in framing or carpentry is a major plus, but we are willing to train candidates.
- Production Mindset: Ability to work at a steady pace in a manufacturing flow while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Physical Stamina: Strong physical condition; capable of standing for full shifts and lifting framing members (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to follow technical instructions from supervisors and work in sync with a production team.
