What You'll Be Doing
- Manage residential construction projects from excavation through occupancy.
- Coordinate and schedule subtrades to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Maintain exceptional quality control throughout every phase of construction.
- Lead and mentor in-house crews while working alongside trades when required.
- Communicate professionally with clients, consultants, inspectors, suppliers, and the office team.
- Identify issues before they become costly problems and develop practical solutions.
- Ensure all work meets BC Building Code requirements and municipal inspection standards.
- Maintain safe, organized, and professional job sites.
What We're Looking For
- Recent experience supervising residential construction projects in Metro Vancouver, ideally Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, or surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of the complete home-building process from excavation, foundations, framing, envelope, MEP, finishing, through final occupancy.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and maintaining construction schedules.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and resolve them proactively.
- Experience working with municipal inspectors and understanding current BC building codes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Willingness to work on the tools when required. This is mandatory.
- Ability to lead crews, assign daily tasks, and hold everyone accountable.
- High attention to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Technology Requirements (Mandatory)
Construction today runs on technology as much as it does on craftsmanship.
Applicants must be comfortable using technology every day, including:
- Smartphones and tablets
- Construction management software (JobTread experience is an asset; willingness to learn is required)
- Digital plans and drawings
- Daily site reports
- Photos, videos, and documentation
- Email, text, and digital communication
If technology isn't something you're comfortable using daily, this position probably isn't the right fit.
Bonus Qualifications
- Red Seal Carpenter
- Experience with custom homes, laneway homes, duplexes, and major residential projects
- First Aid certification
- Knowledge of BC safety requirements
