The School
The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.
The Role
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires a psychology instructor to teach introductory courses as well as senior courses focusing on cognitive/affective bases of behaviour (cognition, learning and behaviourism, emotion and motivation). Experience with the history of psychology is an asset. Course offerings may be adjusted to suit the successful candidate’s strengths and experience. The successful candidate will be part of offering a new Bachelor of Arts, Psychology program currently under review.

This full-time sessional position (with opportunity for tenure) will commence on August 15, 2026.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
A PhD in Psychology is required. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses in Psychology is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Expertise in cognition, learning, behaviourism, emotion, and motivation
- Active research projects are an asset
- Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
- Knowledge of current educational technologies (e.g., videoconferencing, learning management systems) is desired;
- Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action;
- The ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
