Overview:
The Regulatory Coordinator provides regulatory guidance and technical information to internal and external customers for the products manufactured and sold by Newly Weds Foods (‘NWF’). In accordance with government regulations and NWF Policies and Procedures, the Regulatory Coordinator ensures the completeness, accuracy and efficiency of technical information and completes departmental projects. Reports to the Regulatory Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare up-to-date product data sheets, allergen, nutrition, country of origin and formula range information as required. Provide technical information packages to customers as requested including completing customers’ own forms (COF), surveys, questionnaires; and collating all technical information documents (allergen, nutrition, datasheets, country of origin, kosher, halal, QA and other RTIS documents) required to complete request
- Audit formulation entries and labels for accuracy and compliance to NWF policies and current regulations
- Provide the highest level of expertise and technical regulatory customer service to customers, Sales, and R&D to commercialize and meet the marketing demands of new and existing products
- Support continuous improvement activities associated with Regulatory requests and department objectives, coordinating implementation with Regulatory & Technical Information Systems (RTIS) Management
- Comply with Newly Weds Foods corporate personnel policies and RTIS standards and procedures
- Review and maintain raw material databases for accuracy and completeness to support regulatory, technical information, and food safety initiatives
- Review and document procedures applicable to RTIS functions, in collaboration with RTIS team
- Keep current technical knowledge applicable to responsibilities
- Maintain organized and accurate records
- Perform duties and special projects as assigned
- Ensure required confidentiality is maintained at all times
Non-Essential Functions:
1. Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager
Qualifications:
1. A degree or diploma in food science or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Regulatory and/or Science related field
2. Familiarization with Canadian Food Regulations, quality systems, GMP’s and HACCP an asset
3. Excellent written and verbal communication
4. Strong analytical abilities, problem solving and organizational skills
5. Effective project management skills
6. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
7. Bilingual capabilities an asset (English/French)
