Job Description
A passionate and dedicated person for the back of the house, the Kitchen Cook will follow all Hyatt brand standards with breakfast, lunch and dinner services. The candidate understands how to follow simple recipes, is a strict cleaners of their work area and works well with servers and promotes teamwork
Responsibilities & Skills
· Adhere to all Hyatt brand standards with breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. Constructs and creates menu items from Hyatt’s set ingredient list.
· Maintains a strict inventory control with all food + beverage product, processes ordering via GFS and works with the F+B Manager to adhere to FB costs.
· Provide the very best in kitchen cleanliness and proper food rotation.
· Is a leader with our food safety handling initiatives
· Works with Interior Health with all government regulations and standards
· Adhere to all safe food handling procedures and uphold food safety practices.
· Provide room service meals to our guest rooms (based on requests)
Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as shifts will include weekdays, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Previous kitchen experience in hotel or FF restaurant is an asset
- Constant Standing/Walking
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and excellent work ethic
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to self manage in a busy hospitality environment
