Safety Source Fire Inc. (SSF) is a supplier for the fire and safety industries of Atlantic Canada. SSF sells goods and services ranging from gloves to fire trucks, representing the top brands in the industry. Our organization wants to service those companies and individuals who make up our local communities. SSF offices span Atlantic Canada with three (3) separate office locations. All of our locations are open Monday through Friday 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM local time. Our Sales Representatives and Service Team work well outside of these hours to provide the customer with the support they require and deserve.
Role Overview:
Safety Source Fire Inc. is seeking a driven and experienced Branch Supervisor to lead and help build our operations in Newfoundland and Labrador. Based in St. John’s, this is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the team, culture, and direction of our NL branch. The Branch Supervisor will oversee day-to-day branch activities, assist in recruiting and developing staff, and ensure our customers — fire departments, municipalities, and emergency services — receive exceptional service and support. This position reports directly to Senior Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Play a key role in building and growing the Safety Source Fire team in Newfoundland and Labrador, including assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
· Supervise and support branch staff, fostering a collaborative and mission-focused team culture.
· Oversee daily branch operations including sales, service, parts, customer support, inventory counts, and shipping and receiving.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with fire departments, municipalities, and emergency service clients across Newfoundland and Labrador.
· Monitor branch performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in operations and customer satisfaction.
· Coordinate with senior management on inventory, staffing, and strategic goals for the NL region.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and all applicable industry regulations.
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience, ideally in equipment, vehicle, or related industries.
- A team-builder mentality — you thrive on recruiting, developing, and inspiring people.
- Strong leadership skills with a people-first approach.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Experience in fire services, emergency response, or public safety is a strong asset.
- Must be team-oriented and capable of working cooperatively with others.
- Maintain a valid Canadian Driver’s Licence.
- Maintain a valid Canadian Passport.
Work Hours:
The St. John’s, NL office operates during normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and is closed on Saturday, Sunday, and observed holidays. The Branch Supervisor’s standard work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour for lunch, for a total of 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required to support operational and customer needs.
