In this role, you will provide both in-clinic and virtual support to veterinarians and their teams throughout Vancouver's Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Your primary focus will be building strong relationships with our veterinary hospital partners by providing education, training, and ongoing support that helps them maximize the value of WDDC's services. This is not a product sales position. There are no product sales quotas or cold calling. Instead, you'll serve as a trusted resource, helping clinics through education, onboarding, account support, and regular in person visits that help to strengthen long-term partnerships.
The ideal candidate will reside in Vancouver or a surrounding community that provides convenient access to the veterinary hospitals within the assigned territory. Regular travel throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island is an essential part of this role. The successful candidate will:
- Plan and manage an efficient travel schedule to provide on-site support to more than 300 active veterinary hospitals throughout Vancouver's Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Regular highway and ferry travel, along with occasional overnight stays, is required.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with veterinary hospitals by providing exceptional service, education, and ongoing support.
- Educate veterinary practices on the services, programs, and benefits available through membership with Western Drug Distribution Centre (WDDC).
- Provide guidance to veterinary teams on best practices for inventory management, product ordering, client education, and operational efficiencies.
- Assist clinics in maximizing the value of WDDC's complimentary programs, digital tools, and services by developing strategies tailored to their individual needs.
- Prepare and deliver engaging in-clinic and virtual presentations on WDDC services, electronic ordering, e-commerce solutions, website functionality, and other educational programs.
- Represent WDDC at veterinary conferences, Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) conferences, trade shows, and company-sponsored educational events. Occasional travel to Alberta for meetings and training may be required.
- Possess experience with one or more veterinary practice management systems (such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ImproMed, eVetPractice, NEO, or ezyVet), with the ability to quickly learn additional platforms. The successful candidate will support veterinary hospitals with software configuration, including units of measure, pricing structures, inventory management, reorder settings, and other workflow optimizations.
- Be proficient in using virtual meeting platforms (such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom) to deliver training, educational sessions, and client support remotely.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments at WDDC Head Office, as well as fellow Client Services Representatives across Western Canada, to ensure a consistent and exceptional client experience.
- Analyze sales and utilization reports to identify trends, uncover opportunities to improve client engagement, and proactively support veterinary hospitals in maximizing the value of WDDC's programs and services
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the veterinary industry with a strong understanding of veterinary hospital operations and workflows (ideally 3+ years). Experience visiting and supporting veterinary clinics in person is considered a significant asset.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as a college diploma, technical institute designation, or equivalent industry training, is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, web-based platforms, and the ability to quickly learn and utilize new software and technical systems.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document clinic interactions and prepare clear, detailed reports for management.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service, with the ability to assess client needs, prioritize requests, and deliver timely, effective solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Regular travel throughout Vancouver's Lower Mainland and Vancouver Islandis required.
Job Type:
Full-time salary position. Typically, Monday to Friday however applicant should be prepared to experience extended days with travel, some overnight stays and attendance to conferences that could fall on an evening or weekend.
