Overview
We are currently inviting applications for a Medical Office Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our dedicated healthcare team. This dynamic role combines administrative and clinical responsibilities to support the daily operations of our medical practice and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties
- Provide courteous and efficient assistance by answering phone calls, responding to messages, and addressing patient inquiries.
- Coordinate, schedule, and confirm patient appointments with accuracy and professionalism.
- Enter and update patient information, including vital signs, in the Accuro EMR system with precision.
- Maintain examination and treatment rooms to ensure they are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Clinical Duties
- Welcome patients and prepare them for medical examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and blood glucose.
- Prepare and disinfect examination rooms according to established infection control protocols.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and accurately while ensuring patient comfort.
- Clearly explain phlebotomy procedures and provide reassurance to patients as needed.
- Label, document, and manage specimens properly to ensure accurate test results and compliance with laboratory standards.
General Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and healthcare professionals with administrative and clinical tasks as directed.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation, infection control policies, and workplace safety standards.
- Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification in Phlebotomy from a Canadian Accredited Phlebotomy Institute (required).
- Previous experience in a medical or clinical office setting (preferred).
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) ACCURO systems and general computer applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge of laboratory best practices, infection control, and workplace safety standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
