On behalf of our manufacturing client, we are actively looking to hire for a Senior Incoming QA Inspector. This will be at their site in Oakville, ON and is for a day shift.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the inspection of incoming materials, goods, and free issue parts as per the purchase order, manufacturer’s drawings, datasheets, or other required specifications. Provide oversight to other material inspectors and ensure MTR database is updated.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect all receiving material, including welding material, to verify that correct material has been delivered according to company procedures governing the receiving and inspection of materials.
Review MTRs to make sure traceability to ASME or ASTM.
Issue nonconformity report (NCR) for non-conforming or damaged material and tag them with the red tag “REJECTED” and communicate with suppliers to get the root cause(s) and corrective action(s) and close NCR properly.
Initial all test reports for accepted material, and make sure Order Entry is marked on them, and place them in the job file.
Complete material receiving inspection log.
Transfer material from stock to the project accordingly.
Contact the vendor when needed.
Support the applicable teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) department, material inspection, borescope, validation, management, etc.
Oversee material inspectors to ensure inspections are completed as per applicable codes, standards, client specifications, Datasheets, Drawings and Inspection SOP’s.
Provide senior level support to meet the department goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Haves:
Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME (e.g., B31.3, BPE) and relevant material standards for stainless-steel fabrication and process equipment.
Understands ASME section II, part A, B, and C, ASTM and how to use it.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Quality Material Inspector experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Able to read and understand mechanical blueprints.
Strong computer skills with experience using MS Office, Adobe PDF editor and Smartsheet.
Be able to work with technology, ERP systems (NetSuite is preferred), paperless initiatives.
Knowledge of biopharmaceutical/nuclear industry standards & guidelines.
Ability to communicate, negotiate, and compromise with management to achieve project goals.
Good to have:
Thorough understanding of good documentation practices (GDP).
Experienced in using Engineering documents such as datasheets, specifications etc.
Experienced in using caliper, micrometer, and measuring tape.
Effective problem solving, root cause analytical skills.
