Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Demolition Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with demolition projects, preparing sites for new construction, and supporting various aspects of building renovation and restoration. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience in construction and familiarity with various tools and techniques are highly valued.
Duties
- Assist with the demolition of structures, including removing walls, flooring, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Safely operate heavy equipment as required for site clearance and debris removal
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project scope
- Support concrete forming, finishing, and masonry tasks as needed
- Aid in the installation of cabinets, flooring, tile laying, or electrical components during renovation projects
- Perform restoration work such as caulking, painting, or plumbing to prepare sites for new construction or finishing
- Assist with construction estimating tasks by providing on-site measurements and assessments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on site
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction, demolition, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, masonry equipment, and heavy machinery operation preferred
- Basic understanding of carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, or concrete finishing is advantageous
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and work in compliance with OSHA standards
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
- Valid SIN (or relevant identification) required for employment verification
