Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic medical or dental office environment, supporting smooth daily operations and ensuring patient satisfaction. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued, along with a strong understanding of medical and dental terminology.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing as needed
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls appropriately
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting payments and providing necessary documentation
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and administrative documentation
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely communication and appointment scheduling
- Manage correspondence, including emails and faxes, related to patient care and administrative needs
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare or dental practices
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Medical Office setting is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems with professionalism and clarity
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance processing
- Office experience demonstrating strong administrative capabilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record keeping and data entry
