Position Overview
Quality Chain Canada is seeking an experienced Buyer & Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This role combines strategic purchasing with production planning and inventory management to ensure products are available to meet customer demand while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
The successful candidate will work closely with international suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouse operations, sales, and finance to manage procurement, coordinate production schedules, monitor inventory performance, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete purchasing cycle from requisition through receipt.
- Source products and negotiate pricing, freight, payment terms, and supplier agreements.
- Develop and maintain production plans based on customer demand, forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier lead times.
- Prepare, issue, and maintain purchase orders and production orders.
- Coordinate production schedules with overseas manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels and develop replenishment plans based on demand forecasts and supplier lead times.
- Analyze sales trends, inventory performance, and purchasing requirements to support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, shortages, and invoicing.
- Monitor market conditions, tariffs, and supply chain risks.
- Prepare purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance reports using ERP systems and Excel.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance to support inventory availability and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing, planning, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- APICS (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing, production planning, inventory management, or supply chain experience.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers and international logistics.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience with inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
