Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operations. This role requires a proactive approach to prevent downtime and maintain a safe, efficient work environment. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital part in supporting the overall productivity and safety of our operations.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs promptly to minimize operational disruptions
- Use hand tools and power tools to repair, replace, or install mechanical components (typically stick/gas metal arc welding, plasma cutters, acetylene torches etc.)
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities
- Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to restore equipment functionality
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize impact on production
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Operate heavy equipment, forklift, wheel loader, skid steer, genie, etc
- Ability to work overtime as necessary and/or rotating shifts including on-call rotation
- Perform other duties as required
Experience
- Red Seal Millwright/Welder Journeyperson Certificate is preferred; Apprentices, and those with appropriate work experiences will be considered
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to maintenance work
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams is preferred
- Prior experience with preventative maintenance programs is a plus
Work Schedule
- First 3 weeks - Monday to Friday; 8 hour days, then transition to a 4x10 schedule

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
