Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Camp Coordinator to oversee the daily operations between administrative tasks and camp programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and smoothly run environment for all visitors and staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with leadership qualities and a passion for teaching and outdoor education. The Camp Coordinator will play a vital part in creating memorable experiences while maintaining high standards of safety and organization as well as customer outreach and sales. Experience and comfort with customer service and sales will be highly regarded for this role.
Duties
- Coordinate and supervise all camp activities, ensuring they run efficiently and safely, including pre-season logistics
- Edit existing camp programs and design novel programs and activities for camp
- Lead and motivate staff, providing guidance and support to deliver exceptional programs.
- Oversee the scheduling of activities, ensuring they meet program objectives and safety regulations.
- Manage daily camp operations, including logistics, resource allocation, and maintenance of facilities.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, inclusivity, and learning.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and external organizations to ensure clear communication regarding camp activities.
- Monitor health and safety procedures, conducting regular risk assessments to uphold compliance standards.
- Organize training sessions for staff to enhance their teaching skills and programme delivery.
- Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, reporting, and maintaining records related to camp operations.
- Assist parents with enrollment and outreach, maximizing total enrollments
Experience
- Proven experience in managing outdoor camps or similar settings.
- Strong background in organizing activities for diverse age groups.
- Experience in teaching or instructing outdoor or recreational activities is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to outdoor education environments.
- Prior experience working with children or young adults is advantageous but not essential.
